Challenge
The challenge presented to Brown Rainbow by the National Queer Theater was to create a compelling video to promote the fourth year of their "Write it Out" campaign—a free playwright workshop specifically tailored for individuals living with HIV.
The challenge extended beyond showcasing the campaign; it involved addressing the stigma surrounding HIV and attracting a diverse pool of applicants.
Goal
Our goal was twofold: first, to design a visually appealing video that highlighted the unique benefits of the "Write it Out" campaign, and second, to attract a diverse range of applicants.
To achieve this, we opted for an illustrative approach, crafting custom illustrations that culturally represented the diversity within the community living with HIV. Beyond the video, we also developed a distinctive logo for the campaign, creating a visual identity that resonated with the target audience.
Result
The result of our collaboration with the National Queer Theater exceeded expectations.
The illustrative video not only effectively conveyed the essence of the “Write it Out” campaign but also successfully attracted a diverse pool of applicants. The custom illustrations played a pivotal role in fostering inclusivity and breaking down barriers. The program goals were not just met; they were celebrated as “Write it Out” entered its fourth year with increased participation, engagement, and a strengthened sense of community among playwrights living with HIV.
